1. What We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the shared canvas:

• Username — chosen by you at registration; visible only as an account identifier
• Password — stored securely; we never store or transmit your plaintext password
• Pixel placements — the tile coordinates and color of pixels you place on the shared canvas

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• Exact GPS coordinates — your precise location is used only on-device to determine which tile you are standing in; it is never transmitted to our servers, never stored, and never shared
• Location history — we do not record, log, or retain any movement data
• Real name, email address, or phone number
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
• Third-party analytics data — we do not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs

3. How We Use Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for any commercial purpose.

4. Data Retention

• Account data (username, hashed password) is retained until you delete your account
• Pixel placements are permanent contributions to the shared public canvas; they are not deleted when you delete your account (they become unattributed)

5. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to privacy@placepix.app.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or through the App Store update notes. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

7. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Portugal.
